"We're Here to Be Your Lifeline"
Lifeline Addiction Specialists has undertaken a number of serious measures to protect patients and staff during COVID-19 global pandemic. Patients are only admitted to facilities in limited numbers, staff levels are restricted, and CDC & state safety guidelines (social distancing, PPE, handwashing) are strictly followed. Please ask your provider how services have been adjusted during this time.
Lifeline Addiction Specialists is here to help with Addiction Treatment and Behavioral Health needs. Lifeline offers Primary Healthcare for patients in program. We offer an office-based medication assisted treatment program for adults with opioid dependence. More commonly than not, patients that struggle with addiction also have psychiatric issues. We understand the importance of treating the underlying cause of substance abuse, not just the outward face of addiction. Our Behavioral and Addiction Services include: Medication Assisted Treatment: Buprenorphine (Suboxone) and Primary Care of Patients in program.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is one of the most effective and lifestyle changing forms of care available to overcome the compulsion to engage in substance abuse. A common misconception associated with MAT is that it substitutes one drug for another. Instead, these medications relieve the withdrawal symptoms and psychological cravings that cause chemical imbalances in the body. MAT programs, coupled with individual and group therapy, provide a safe and controlled level of medication to overcome the use of an abused opioid. Research has shown that when provided at the proper dose, medications used in MAT have no adverse effects on a patients intelligence, mental capability, physical functioning or employability. We provide individual and group therapy from licensed therapists, with a multitude of experience helping patients to effectively cope with a wide variety of mental health disorders, substance abuse, trauma, and other difficult life events. Many times patients require medication management to aid in the improvement of their mental condition. The providers at Lifeline have 15+ years of experience in the field of psychiatry. Treatment is available for various psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.

The group addiction counseling is provided in partnership with certain area doctors for clients that are on Medicaid and are receiving Suboxone treatment. Per WV State guidelines clients receiving Suboxone treatment must have 4 hours of therapy service each month. This is achieved through weekly, one hour group or individual sessions. The group sessions are conducted at our office in Beckley, WV. Therapists must either be ADC certified or have had at least 2 years providing addiction and relapse prevention counseling.
